LIFE AND WORKS:

- HE WAS A FASHIONABLE FIGURE IN LONDON
- HE WAS THE MOST REPRESENTATIVE AUTHOR OF AESTHETICISM
- HIS GUIDING PRINCIPLE WAS "ART FOR ART'S SAKE" ⇨ L'ARTE PER L'ARTE
- HE WAS A REBEL
- HE ACCEPTED A SORT OF PUBLIC TRIAL BECAUSE HE WAS HOMOSEXUAL AND WENT TO PRISON
HIS MAIN (=PRINCIPAL) WORKS ARE:
THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY
THE HAPPY PRINCE
HE WAS A BIG STATUE IN THE CITY.
HE WAS COVERED BY THIN LEAVES OF GOLD.
A LITTE SWALLOW BECAME HIS FRIEND.
THE HAPPY PRINCE WAS VERY KIND AND GENEROUS AND GAVE HIS EYES AND RUBY TO HELP POOR PEOPLE IN THE CITY.
THE SWALLOW HELPED HIM.
WINTER WAS COMING AND ONE DAY THE SWALLOW WAS FOUND DEAD AT THE PRINCE'S FEET.
THE STATUE WAS NOW GREY (WITHOUT GOLD), SO THE WORKMEN TOOK THE STATUE DOWN AND THE METAL MELTED IN A FURNACE LEAVING BEHIND A BROKEN HEART.
THEY PUT IT AWAY IN THE DUST WITH THE DEAD SWALLOW.
GOD DECIDED TO BRING THE HEART AND THE DEAD BIRD IN HIS GARDEN IN PARADISE.
